Research laboratories
Name: Biochemistry Research Laboratory
Aim: The Biochemistry Research Laboratory aims to teach students biochemical analysis methods and to equip them with experimental thinking and scientific interpretation skills. The primary objective is to understand metabolic and molecular processes in living organisms through biochemical analysis methods and to transform this knowledge into scientific data that contributes to the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment strategies of diseases.
In the laboratory setting, students perform measurements such as the determination of glucose, protein, lipid, and creatinine levels in blood, protein and albumin analysis in urine, enzyme activities, drug metabolites, and binding experiments. Through these applications, students are taught fundamental laboratory techniques such as spectrophotometry, ELISA, electrophoresis, and molecular biology methods.
In this way, students not only develop their experimental skills but also gain the competence to analyze and interpret biochemical events at the molecular level.
