Faculty of Pharmacy
General Overview- Department of Biochemistry

The Department of Biochemistry, within the Faculty of Pharmacy at Hacettepe University, integrates the fundamental principles of biochemistry with pharmaceutical sciences, conducting high-quality education and research activities at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Since its establishment, the department has embraced research-based learning approaches and promoted scientific thinking in the field of pharmacy.

In addition to offering core biochemistry courses within the undergraduate pharmacy curriculum, the department also provides joint courses within the Master's and PhD programs of the Institute of Health Sciences.

The Department of Biochemistry plays an active role in various national and international scientific projects, including those supported by TÜBİTAK, European Union framework programs, and university-funded initiatives. It maintains collaborations with numerous universities and research centers across the country and carries out joint research and student exchange programs with various academic institutions.

The department has a well-equipped laboratory infrastructure utilizing experimental techniques such as spectrophotometric analysis, electrophoresis, chromatography systems (HPLC, GC-MS), ELISA, Western blotting, PCR, and cell culture.
