EFT 614 - Biodegradable Polymers in Drug Delivery Systems

In the cover of this course, the importance of biodegradable polymers from formulation aspect of pharmaceutical technology is emphasized, related terminology is defined  and after a classification of  biopolymers, basic knowledge concerning natural and synthetic properties of biopolymers  are  presented. Properties of Poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) polymers, design and development of drug delivery system using this FDA approved biodegradable, biocompatible and synthetic polymer is also discussed in detail using update literature.
